Our Story

Longleaf Ridge is a multi-generational family farm in Georgia committed to sustaining natural resources and producing safe, high quality food products. Bordering the Flint River and situated amidst pine flatwoods and sprawling oak hammocks, our farm is more than just a business - it is our heritage and our home.

Longleaf Ridge is owned and operated by Casey Cox Kerr in partnership with her husband Chris and father Glenn. Casey is the sixth generation of the family to farm along the Flint River in south Georgia. The farm produces sweet corn, peanuts, field corn, soybeans, and manages both natural and planted timber.

Meet the Farmers

Casey Cox Kerr

Casey Cox Kerr is the sixth generation of her family to farm along the Flint River in south Georgia. She never imagined she would move back to the farm, much less be the one to take the farm into the next generation. After serving as Executive Director of the Flint River Soil and Water Conservation District for five years, Casey transitioned to the farm full time and now works alongside her Dad and husband. She considers it the best decision of her life to move back to the farm with the opportunity to build on the foundation her parents and many generations before her cultivated with hard work and dedication. She is passionate about the Flint River, the agriculture industry, and innovation. She has a degree in Natural Resource Conservation from the University of Florida and is active in many agricultural and community organizations. Her most significant professional accomplishment to date was teaching Cookie Monster and Gonger where peanut butter comes from on Season 49 of Sesame Street!

Chris Kerr

Chris Kerr is currently Vice President of Longleaf Ridge Farms, where he is working to advance business development for his wife Casey’s 6th generation farm, including a new venture, Casey Morgan’s. He has previously held roles in New York and Los Angeles in marketing, strategy, operations and business development at companies such as DreamWorks SKG, Paramount Pictures, MTV Networks, NBC Universal, Hulu, Gerson Lehrman Group, and onefinestay. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Hardy Realty & Development Company. Chris graduated from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and was chosen by the Georgia Rotary Student Program to attend the University of Oslo in Norway. He also received a master’s degree from the Annenberg School at The University of Southern California.

Glenn Cox

Glenn Cox is a lifelong farmer who is in the process of teaching Casey everything he knows. Glenn had the opportunity to return home to the family business and grow the farm operation at the beginning of his career. Over the years, he consistently experimented with new varieties, technologies, tools, practices, and even crops to diversify the business and produce more efficiently. With over 40 years of experience with sweet corn, peanuts, timber, and farming in general, Glenn remains a critical part of the farm operation though he is looking forward to retiring and spending more time in his beloved Flint River. Glenn’s most significant accomplishment, aside from a successful farming career, is instilling a deep love for the land, the river, and the farm in his daughter which spurred her return home.

Another essential part of Longleaf Ridge is our farm team, including our farm manager, John, and employees Brian and Jordan. Their hard work, dedication, and operational skills are critical to the farm’s success each season.
